AGRA AGRICULTURAL ACADEMY INVEST IN THE FUTURE OF AGRICULTURE GRANTS

Press Release:

AGRA AGRICULTURAL ACADEMY, FACILITATED BY AGRA PROVISION AND B2GOLD INVEST IN THE FUTURE OF AGRICULTURE GRANTS

Agra Agricultural Academy, facilitated by Agra ProVision in partnership with B2Gold Namibia, officially announced the grant initiative and introduced the 20 selected candidates at an event held at the Agra Bank Windhoek Ring in Windhoek. The occasion marked a significant step towards strengthening the future of agriculture through education and skills development.

The event highlighted the importance of collaboration in building a resilient and sustainable agricultural sector. The programme forms part of a four-year commitment by B2Gold Namibia, contributing N$560,000 per year, aimed at empowering students with access to accredited, practical training through Agra’s Agricultural Academy. The training focuses on Plant Production and Animal Production, equipping students with industry-relevant skills to actively contribute to Namibia’s agricultural landscape.

The event featured remarks from several key stakeholders, including Agra CEO Arnold Klein, B2Gold Namibia Country Manager John Roos, Manager of Agra ProVision Dr Fiona Anderson, and the Deputy Minister of Education, Innovation, Youth, Sports, Arts and Culture, Hon. Dino Balotti, who addressed the audience on the importance of investing in education and youth development.

Speaking at the event, Arnold Klein emphasised the importance of cross-sector collaboration:
“At Agra, we have always stood firm on one principle: agriculture is not optional; it is essential. What makes this initiative truly meaningful is that this understanding is shared beyond our industry. Partnerships like this ensure that we collectively invest in the sustainability of our country.”

The bursary recipients were selected through a structured and considered process, taking into account academic potential, commitment to agriculture, and regional representation. Students from areas including Otavi, Grootfontein, Tsumeb, and across Northern Namibia form part of this intake, ensuring that opportunities reach regions where agricultural potential is strong, but access to education remains limited.

Beyond financial support, the programme provides students with practical exposure and training aligned with real industry needs, effectively bridging the gap between education and application.
B2Gold Namibia’s involvement reflects a strong commitment to community development and long-term investment in Namibia’s future workforce. As the sponsor of the grants, B2Gold continues to play a meaningful role in supporting education and empowering the next generation of agricultural leaders.

Agra ProVision, through its Agricultural Academy, remains committed to growing people, building skills, and strengthening the agricultural sector, because investing in people is investing in the future of Namibia.
