Namibian Rangelands are threatened by increasing grazing pressure, with risk of desertification and woody plant (bush) encroachment. Under these environmental conditions, the effects of climate change are likely to exacerbate the variability of rainfall and worsen the current impacts. The study of Rangeland management is therefore essential to the sustainable use of rangelands by protecting, improving, and restoring the rangelands' basic resources—soil, water, plants, wildlife, and livestock.
