This course is designed to equip participants with the knowledge and skills to grow crops in limited spaces. The training focuses on simple, affordable and water‑efficient gardening methods suitable for urban areas. Participants are introduced to urban soil health, including the use of potting mixes and compost to improve plant growth. The course also covers irrigation and water conservation techniques, helping participants garden effectively under low‑rainfall and water‑restricted environments. The course further covers crop selection, planting techniques, and growing in small spaces through methods such as container gardening, vertical gardening and raised beds. Participants will gain an understanding on urban pest and disease control, garden maintenance, fertilizer management and plant nutrition.
