AGRA INVESTS IN EMPLOYEE GROWTH
On Friday, 6 September, Agra welcomed the second Apprentice group into the Agra Agricultural Academy, continuing its commitment to investing in the growth and development of its employees. As part of Agra's core value of being Rooted in our People, this initiative highlights the company’s dedication to contributing to the agricultural community through education. By empowering its workforce with knowledge and skills, Agra aims to ensure that the agricultural industry evolves in line with the ever-changing global landscape.
Eleven (11) employees from Agra will participate in a one-year online Agri-Sales course through the Agra Agricultural Academy while seventeen (17) employees are busy with their second-year National Diploma in Animal and Plant Production. During the event, Agra CEO, Arnold Klein, addressed the group, reinforcing the company’s culture of striving for excellence. He emphasised that this commitment to excellence should extend beyond their work and into all aspects of life, including their studies and personal growth.
Christo Brisley, Senior Technical Advisor at ProVision, highlighted the Academy’s innovative approach to education with its online learning system, which allows apprentices to balance their studies with their practical work. "This program offers flexibility, ensuring that each apprentice can develop the necessary skills without sacrificing their work commitments. Agra cares deeply about your success and is here to support you every step of the way," Christo explained.
The event also featured remarks from Christo Brisley, Senior Technical Advisor at ProVision, who introduced the apprentices to Agra Academy’s innovative online learning system. The system is designed to provide the student with flexibility, enabling them to balance practical work with theoretical learning. His commitment to supporting the apprentices throughout their educational journey reinforced Agra’s dedication to providing continuous learning and top-quality resources.
Through initiatives like the Apprenticeship Program, Agra reaffirms its role as an employer that values the growth of its employees. The Academy ensures that every individual who joins the program receives the tools they need to advance their careers, contributing to both their personal success and the broader agricultural industry in Namibia.
This Apprentice Day marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter for these future leaders, who will play a crucial role in the sustainability and innovation of agriculture in the country.
